Love the Stranger (A Queens Mystery)

Ted Molloy is still dusting himself off from his most recent scuffle with corrupt businessmen and their unsavory associates when his partner McKenzie Zielinski drags a new problem through their door. McKenzie is a tireless advocate for the underdog and a mutual friend of her and Ted has been experiencing issues with obtaining his citizenship. While investigating the friend’s lawyer, she chances upon the lawyer’s fresh corpse.

McKenzie has now become a witness/suspect in the eyes of the law. Ted must assist McKenzie on this troubling front while also tending to their work in forestalling a massive construction boondoggle in Corona, Queens which would displace many citizens. Ted’s case may be being sidetracked and McKenzie’s office is being harassed by thugs. His and McKenzie’s fight is now on multiple fronts and their futures are uncertain.

Love The Stranger is the exciting and rewarding follow-up to Tower of Babel (2021). Michael Sears delivers a compelling dramatic mystery wherein his protagonist will compromise to protect those closest to him, but proves equally willing to throw down the gauntlet when challenged. This is an impressive novel worthy of a wide audience.
