I Love You More

Rae and her mother are winding down for the night and getting ready for sleep. Mom tells Rae that she loves her more than she can find ways to tell her, but she tries. How much do penguins love playing in the snow? How much do eagles love to soar? How much do camels love soft sand? Mom’s words take Rae on a trip around the world to see many animals at play and at home in the places they live all to express how much she loves Rae. But even that isn’t enough to express this mother’s love. They would have to add counting all the stars and planets to show how much love Mom has for Rae. But Rae has something to say, too.

Author Clare Helen Welsh has written a lovely story in perfect meter and rhyme that will enchant little listeners as they quiet down for the night. Beautiful watercolor illustrations in muted tones by Kevin and Kristen Howdeshell fill every page with wonderful details that will keep youngsters engaged all the way through. This is a perfect bedtime book that little ones will ask for over and over.
