Hike the Parks: Zion & Bryce Canyon National Parks: Best Day Hikes, Walks, and Sights
Southern Utah has some of the most beautiful parks in America. Of those, Zion and Bryce Canyon are certainly two of the most popular. As with any large park, the choices of how to see all there is to see can be daunting. But this little (four by seven inch) book is a terrific planning tool and easy to carry along. The book opens with a small overview map of the parks followed by a table that lists hiking trails in different regions of each park with the trail name, distance, elevation gain, high point altitude, and degree of difficulty. An overview section discusses the physical properties, the human history of the parks, the geology, flora, and fauna found there, and sights and activities not to be missed during one’s visit. This is followed by in-depth write-ups of forty different trails. Each individual section has a map of the trail and a gorgeous color photo of a place on the trail as well as a good deal of information such as the material that makes up the trail and GPS coordinates and a generous write-up. This is a terrific pocket-sized guide packed full of useful information.
