For the Love of Summer is a book that will make readers, laugh, cry, and feel inspired to just be a good person. Erica is a successful business woman who owns a chain of high end salons. When her sixteen-year-old daughter, Summer, tells her that her father, Erica’s ex-husband, is in jail and that Allison, his new wife needs help, Erica is very standoffish. But Summer convinces her to get to know Allison and her toddler Jackson. Allison is also very pregnant with a little girl named Bethany.

This book shows how people can work together to make the best of the situation. Although Erica is still bitter about her ex-husband Peter leaving her for no good reason other than she is a workaholic, she is able to put her feelings aside and For the Love of Summer helps Allison.

I loved everything about this book, from the characters who were polar opposites to the sweet girl who brings them together to Erica’s romantic interest. This is a feel-good book that will have readers engaged from the very start.
