Dark Corners: A Novel
When Rachel Krall, a journalist turned True Crime Podcaster, gets a mysterious call from the FBI to fly down to FL, her curiosity is piqued. She immediately gets on a plane and travels down with no idea why. Two FBI agents meet her at a maximum security prison and arrange a meeting with a prisoner. Her name came up as a possible lead in a missing persons investigation, and they hoped her meeting with Terrance Bailey would help shed some light on the situation. When her meeting is unfruitful, they then tell her to go home, but it’s too late. The mysterious vanishing of influencer Maddison Logan has its hook in Rachel and she’s not going home until she finds her.
This multifaceted mystery was well thought out with twists and turns that you won’t see coming. The characters are well-rounded, and the story was easy to follow. Though this is the second book in a series, it’s a great stand-alone novel. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys crime thrillers, and look forward to reading the rest of this series.
