Avocado Magic

Avocado Magic is the story of a young girl named Ellie who lives with her dad and brother. The avocado tree is important when she celebrates birthdays, but as she ages, it becomes more important to her in different ways. Ellie wants to grow up so badly and can’t understand why it isn’t happening quickly; her dad shows her an avocado seed and tells her that they are similar – small and full of magic. Ellie gets her seed ready to grow and must learn patience and how to take care of it. When it begins to grow, she notices changes in herself.

The story of Ellie growing with the avocado plant reminds me of myself and others around my age, so it teaches me to be patient and enjoy what’s around me now because I’ll get bigger eventually. This story is a good one for kids as they are growing, but maybe also for adults who don’t understand patience and how magic works.
