This Is Why We Lied: A Will Trent Thriller (Will Trent, 12)

Will Trent and Sara are married, and Will has planned an amazing honeymoon at a mountain resort. They decide to hide who they really are and tell people Sara is a chemistry teacher and Will is a mechanic. They meet some of the other guests on the hike into the property, and when they meet the family who owns the resort, it’s clear there will be plenty of drama, Will has history with one of the family, and it’s not good history. The first night, the daughter of the owners, who manages the resort, is brutally murdered, and Will and Sara, after meeting the local sheriff, realize solving the crime will be up to them. Twists, turns, and another body keep the tension high.

Karin Slaughter has added another great chapter to her Will Trent series. Her writing is terrific, her storytelling chops are well-honed, and the fully-developed characters are completely believable. Fans of Will Trent will be fully engaged in this newest mystery, and completely satisfied with the ongoing saga of Will’s often heartbreaking story. The cast of characters in this story showcases Slaughter’s deft hand in writing great mysteries. Don’t miss this one.
