Parents like nothing less than hearing children say, “I’m bored! There’s nothing to do.” This book has over a hundred activities kids who read well can do on their own. The book is listed as being for kids age four and up, they will really need to be able to read well to work on their own. Certainly, many of the projects are appropriate for younger children, such as doing pizza art or making finger puppets, but many really require a lot more learning, such as keeping a journal or making a family tree. Each activity has symbols to show when adult supervision is needed, which are especially messy, and which require internet service. Each indicates what youngsters will need to complete the activity and clearly written step-by-step instructions. Every page has fun graphics and cartoony illustrations in lots of soft colors. The font is easy for kids to read, yet it has a fun vibe and looks like hand-printing. The activities use a lot of found materials such as bubble wrap and empty soda bottles and things found in most homes such as paper, scissors, crayons, glue, etc. This is a terrific book.
