The Teacher

We rated this book:

The Teacher is the first book I’ve read from Author Freida McFadden and I have to say that it definitely lived up to all of the hype I’ve seen on my social media sites. What I found the most interesting about this book is that every character in it has deep, dark secrets. Also, the main characters are not really good people.

Addie is a sixteen-year-old high school student who became obsessed with a teacher last year—so much that the teacher had to resign even though he didn’t do anything wrong. This year, Addie is bullied by popular girl Kenzie in Mean Girl fashion. Eve Bennett is Addie’s math teacher this year and was mentored by the teacher who resigned. Eve is the meanest character in the book and is an awful daughter and wife. She is married to Nate Bennett, the dreamy English teacher all the girls have a crush on.

The lives of all of the characters intersect in just a way that the situations are both realistic and unbelievable at the same time. Each of the characters is so self-centered they can’t process anything that is going on around them efficiently which leads to disaster. The Teacher is an absolutely fantastic thriller with twists and turns that will leave readers satisfied from cover to cover.
