The Last to Pie (A Pies Before Guys Mystery)

The Last to Pie is the third installment in the Pies Before Guys series by Misha Popp, perfect for fans of Ellery Adams and Elle Cosimano. Daisy Ellery is off of the reality baking show set and back into the kitchen of her vintage pink trailer, baking pies for students, diner regulars, and women who need a more permanent form of justice than the law can give.

Unfortunately for her and her pit-bull pal Zoe, settling into a happy routine and putting down roots with her found family at the diner and sweet orchard owner boyfriend Noel is proving difficult when there are women out there in desperate need of her murder pies. When her hesitation over an incoming order causes a potential client to be kidnapped by her police officer boyfriend, it sets off a chain of events that leads Daisy to question how far she’s willing to go for her clients, and whether she’s really capable of settling down at all.

While I adored the first two novels in the series for their cozy atmosphere and likable characters, this one definitely parks its plot more firmly in the thriller camp, so readers beware of more distressing content.
