My Roommate from Hell: A Novel
Even though Owen’s plans for college do not include a certain demon from Hell, he ends up rooming with Zarmenus, the son of their king. Travel between the dimensions of Hell and Earth has made it possible for an exchange program, which is unfortunate for Owen. When the roommates meet with Dean Leeke, Owen learns that maintaining good relations with Hell is squarely on his shoulders. The Dean knows it will be tough, so he has offered to sweeten the deal: stay roommates for the entire semester, and a Google internship is his. Success is still possible! However, this soon seems an insurmountable task as Zarmenus is a slob and brings guys over for make-out sessions nightly. After some discussion, things get better, but when some particularly damaging news headlines threaten human/demon relations, Zarmenus tells his parents that Owen is his boyfriend in order to save himself. Say what?
While fake dating is a familiar romance trope, the devilish spin (and hot sexy demon) makes it an original. Burning with hellcats and ghouls, laced with flaming furniture and demon anger, this rom-com with the flirty banter and teenage angst will be the perfect read for the darkening days of October.
