Movie Night Trivia
Can you name the teachers Cher plays matchmaker for in 1995’s Clueless? Do you know what South American country Erik Lehnsherr travels to in order to exact revenge on Nazis who escaped prosecution in 2011’s X-Men: First Class? I didn’t, but Movie Night Trivia was still the perfect way to spend a Saturday night with friends and family. This trivia book spans decades of movie making, drawing on everything from movies my parents grew up with to movies that have been released in the last several years. A nice cross section of genres has been split into six sections (Musicals and Comedies, Animals and Family Films, Fantasy and Science Fiction, Superheroes and Action, Dramas and Classics, and Animated) that serve as individual quizzes. Or, if you’re like me, you’ll just flip through the book hoping to stump everyone.
The book includes an interesting array of pictures from the movies that may or may not help you arrive at the correct answer. Being a bookworm myself, I found that I could answer very few of the questions, but my more movie savvy friends didn’t find it nearly as tricky. Whether or not we had the answers, Movie Night Trivia got us talking and laughing, which is exactly the point of a book like this: to bring people together for some friendly competition.
I know a handful of people who love movies like I love books and I couldn’t help but thinking about how fun it would be to include this in a movie night basket for them.
