Misty Mole Goes Screen-Free
Sometimes children’s books are enjoyable without a strong message, and some books hit you over the head with a message right from the beginning and never letting up. This book falls into the latter category. While the message is good – which is that children should not be spending time looking at their phone screens – the art leaves a lot to be desired as it is fairly basic with a lot of white space left on many pages.
Misty Mole is sad that none of her friends want to play, draw, or read together as they all want to play on their phones. She goes to her parents and asks for a phone, which they readily agree too. Misty Mole then no longer plays but is always looking at her phone screen. This leads her to get in trouble at school, not sleep well and ruin her vision.
She and the other children learn from Dr. Eagle is to not look at phone screens and to play outside and all of their ailments will go away.
