A sense of adventure grips those exploring unknown – especially forbidden – places. The added allure of finding treasures or riches only heightens the sensation. Stories of this genre have captured audiences for centuries. True stories are especially magical as they grip the audience, and cast the main characters with larger-than-life personalities.

This book recounts thirty-four such real-life stories. These are divided into seven categories: Pirates and Plunder, Shipwrecks, Caves and Mines, Treasures of Kings, Gangsters and Robbers, Mystery Hunters, and Oak Island’s Lost Relics. Most sections have about half a dozen tales, and all of them take place in the Americas. As true stories go, some leave open the possibility of finding treasure at some time in the future. Most narratives are around ten pages long, and as they unrelated can be read in any order. The grayscale pictures, extensive quotes, and song lyrics enhance the text adding charm to the narrative.

The narrative is fast paced and riveting. The book can be read in short bursts or for longer durations. Best of all the stories are real and usually leave a little intrigue at the end. Recommended for readers who thrive on adventure, mystery, and relish real stories.
