I’m Starting to Worry About This Black Box of Doom: A Novel

Right outside of Los Angeles, a rideshare driver has an important decision to make: take the $200,000 cash his mysterious (and slightly singed) fare is offering to take her and a large black box all the way to Washington, D.C. or slink back home to make another fast food review video for his streaming channel. With a set of rules and aura of danger surrounding the box, Abbott is apprehensive to say the least, but the charismatic Ether and her bag full of cash are too tempting for the financially bereft driver to pass up.

What follows is a madcap romp across the U.S. and the darkest, most ridiculous corners of the internet. One thing to understand about I’m Starting to Worry About This Black Box of Doom is that you, dear reader, will begin to worry about said box before hitting page fifty and continue to do so until the very end of the book; which at just under four hundred pages, is quite a lot of worrying. But as fans of Pargin’s previous series know, his wry sense of humor, likable characters, and wild plot twists will keep you hooked until the very last page.
