How Do Quarterbacks Throw a Perfect Pass?: The Biomechanics and Physics Behind Sports
Although the title of the book may make you think the book is only about football, How do Quarterbacks Throw a Perfect Pass is actually about physics and biomechanics as they relate to all sports. From baseball to swimming, the way we move our bodies determines which way the ball (or our body) will go. Even though the book is geared more towards middle grades, younger children will also love having the book read to them. The illustrations do a wonderful job of accompanying the words the author uses to explain how physics works. The author throws in a lot of fun facts that even adults probably wouldn’t know. The author uses questions to engage the reader, such as “How do soccer players kick a ball around other players?” and “How do Olympic swimmers swim so fast?” Using a question-and-answer technique, the book allows the reader to apply the answer to the question without making it seem like facts are just being spit out everywhere. This would be a great addition to any home or school library.
