Fables of the Deconstruction
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work with a meth-addicted bear trying to avoid hibernation? Or how Jesus would fare as a coal miner? Damian Dressick, award-winning short story author, addresses those situations and more. He explores trying to find a host for Survivor: Armageddon, an eBay advert selling a part in a twenty-three-year friendship, and uses pie charts to describe when and how a first date went bad.
Dressick’s Fables of the Deconstruction, not to be confused with an album of a similar name, is a collection of sixty-three tantalizing stories. This book of quirky, off-the-wall tales will leave you either laughing or scratching you head, but they certainly will not bore you. Many of his tales can be considered short stories but most of his writings are flash fiction (one thousand words or less), and all are entertaining. Without being bogged down by useless details, these stories are quick escapes from the norm. Here is a chance to read about what Dressick has to say about fire, water, or whether it was the aliens or Jim’s “what-if-ery” that stopped the clocks at three.
