The daughter of fair Verona is back in this riotous sequel, Thus with a Kiss I Die. Rosie Montague, daughter of Romeo and Juliet (yes, THAT Romeo and Juliet), has “got her tit caught in the wringer of true love,” and another murder to solve. When the ghost of her intended’s father asks her to find his killer, she’s less than excited. Especially after so recently catching Verona’s first serial murderer. But if solving the murder means being united with her true love, well, the course never did run smooth, did it?

Christina Dodd’s Daughter of Verona series is a complete romp. These books are tremendous fun. They might include true-to-Shakespeare details, but the tone is mixed up with a narrator who could come from any 1990s teenage rom-com. Rosie is a delight, a spunky heroine who has some glaring blind spots, despite reaching the advanced age of twenty and still being a virgin. The writing is clever, and the chemistry between Rosie and her prince is HOT. Throw in a ghost, some laugh-out-loud family dynamics, and a murder mystery, and you have a treat.
