Don’t Tell Me How to Die: A Novel
Maggie Dunn has always known her clock was ticking. Her mother died at forty-three from a rare, and genetic, blood disease. She’s had the yearly blood tests and this year finally came the bad news: her time is running out. Maggie saw what happened after her mother died, how all the eligible ladies, and some ineligible, came flocking to her father as soon as mom went into the ground.
Maggie has decided that she’s going to find the next Mrs. Dunn before she dies. She’s not going to spend her time trying to beat it, knowing it’s unlikely. Don’t Tell Me How to Die is Maggie’s motto and no one’s going to stop her from getting what she wants.
I have no idea what to think about this book. You go along thinking the whole time, the book is about one thing, only to finish with a completely different story full of murder. Karp really brings you on a wild ride, transporting you back and forth to what happened when Maggie’s mom died to her current dilemma. The characters are an interesting and eclectic bunch. Overall, if you are looking for something to shock you, this is it.
